Municipal is continuing its presence in the sports world with a collection fronted by two golf pros.
The apparel and lifestyle brand founded by actor Mark Wahlberg and chief executive officer Harry Arnett is tapping golf pros Wyndham Clark and Kurt Kitayama to be the face of its upcoming golf capsule collection, which will be released ahead of the Masters Tournament.
This is the first time Municipal has worked with Kitayama; however, the brand previously worked with Wyndham last year when he won the 123rd U.S. Open in June.
“As a newcomer to partnering with Municipal, I’ve been truly impressed by our collaboration,” Kitayama said. “Municipal’s commitment to innovation and quality shines through in every step of the process. Contributing to the creation of this new golf capsule has been an exciting journey, and I’m honored to offer my insights to help shape its development. I look forward to the future of our collaboration and am thrilled to showcase the results on the course.”
Municipal’s collection offers polo shirts, pants, shorts and other apparel that will be worn by Kitayama and Clark throughout the Masters.
This is Municipal’s latest initiative in the sports world. Last year the brand tapped NFL athlete Myles Garrett as a brand ambassador and equity partner. The brand also embarked on its first retail partnership last year with sporting goods retailer Scheels.
“Municipal is a comfort and performance first brand,” Arnett said. “And you can’t be the best in the world until and unless your products are battle tested and validated by the world’s best athletes. The interaction and integration with the best athletes during the design and development process is absolutely essential to deliver the best fit, performance and comfort for everyone who buys our stuff.”
